1976 to 1980
Associate of Arts Degree in criminal justice/ Pima College. Tucson, AZ

Police Department. Tucson, AZ Concentrated on liquor enforcement as well as DUI patrol. Also assigned general patrol duties.
1985 to 1990
State of Arizona Peace officer assigned with state liquor Control investigating liquor and narcotics related cases. Much of this was to prosecute licensees for a lack of responsible, legal liquor service, and acts of violence. Mr Durnal held a unique position while with the State Liquor Control. He was assigned follow up on alcohol related accidents and incidents for adjudication against a licensee and their staff. This entailed the complete investigation and trial testimony that would follow.
1990 to Present
Own and operate Alcohol Management Services Inc, Tucson, AZ. Which entails training, expert testimony, liquor liability consulting, public speaking and investigations related to Liquor Liability and Acts of Violence. Mr. Durnal provides assistance to attorneys by assessing their case and explaining the strengths and weaknesses of a particular claim. The assessment of a potential violence or over service claim is a service Mr. Durnal provides by comparing training guidelines, statutes, published articles, published studies, state-by state case law, and the particular operations policies and procedures to the events and responses of the evening or day in question. Many operations assist in setting their standards by the requirements the have designated of their staff and the alcohol awareness training they have attended. As a nationally known liquor liability expert Randy has reviewed protocols and rendered opinions regarding the adequacy of policies and procedures adopted by small venues and national chain operations.
Randy's education as a liquor liability expert is constantly increasing his understanding by testifying in cases for the defense and plaintiffs that require his input and testimony. Mr. Durnal strives to work both sides of these cases (plaintiffs and defense) in an effort to allow Randy to express fair unbiased opinions as a liquor liability expert. Mr. Durnal will use this education and experience as a dram shop expert to support his opinions. Randy clearly believes that he will continue to learn and be a more beneficial liquor liability expert for plaintiffs and defense firms alike if he continues his expert testimony, public speaking engagements, research and writings on these very libelous topics.
In continuing his education Mr. Durnal has presented and been present at numerous forums on security requirements, over service infractions and minor consuming issues. Through his law enforcement and company background he has attended and will continue to present and attend countless schools/presentations that instruct him as a liquor liability expert. In turn, he uses this knowledge to instruct jurors during trial testimony as to what is expected of a liquor-serving venue when violent acts, over service or serving minors are at issue. He also has examined numerous studies on these topics.
Continuing education is a key component in retaining his expertise as a liquor liability expert.
