M. Randy Durnal is a nationally recognized expert in liquor liability cases/dram shop involving over serving, service to minors, acts of violence, and training adequacy.
Randy Durnal testifies regarding the Standards of Care and the foresee-ability of events such as those occurring based upon the establishment's alcohol awareness training, policies, and procedures or lack thereof. Randy Durnal's testimony is strengthened through his vast experience in law enforcement. He has been invited as a guest speaker at many national presentations, seminars and law enforcement training meetings. He personally enjoys 28 years of investigative experience. Mr. Durnal believes a good expert is objective of the facts and will use his past & present experience with the liquor industry nationwide to explain at presentations for law enforcement and in civil hearings as to the safest practices a liquor-serving venue should follow and what the standard requires them to adhere to. He supports his opinions with the training programs he and others have developed and by consulting with liquor serving venues nationwide. Not all liquor-serving venues have the same concerns dependent on their operation. He can openly explain the difference.
His public speaking presentations are at a national level that teaches responsible alcohol service. Most recently at the Nightclub and Bar Expo in Las Vegas during March of 2007 and the national TIPs alcohol awareness conference Mr. Durnal presented at in August, 2007.
Since 1980 Randy Durnal was a certified law enforcement officer highlighted by his tenure with State Liquor Control. Randy has been providing expert testimony in civil cases for plaintiffs and defense attorneys in over serving cases, acts of violence, service to minors, and training adequacy since 1985. With well over 500 depositions and countless trial testimonies he has been retained in over a 1000 cases throughout the country.
Mr. Durnal provides objective questions for attorneys during the discovery process when depositions are conducted of bar staff, suspects and witnesses. He also works with defense firms to verify that the operation sincerely failed to meet the standard pf care. Mr Durnal retains various links of research material and studies as it relates to over service, serving minors and violence. This information has proven to be invaluable in support of assessing policies, procedures, training material or assisting the attorney during the investigative process.
